Presentation tools - Prezi

I have created my first Prezi Presentation!   It has taken me the best part of the day!!  Previously I have made power points which I find very straight forward to use and for a linear learner they are logical to follow.  But not all my learners think like I do.  Earlier in the year I saw a prezi presentation and was quite impressed the way information was presented so thought I'd give it a go.

·           Good hook to engage learner ·           Excellent culminating task for assessment ·           Can make an assignment look professional ·           Opportunity for students to work together and develop collaboration skills ·           Powerpoint can be used offline ·           Engaging for learners particularly visual learners	·       Can take up a lot of time putting together and students can get  distracted with the aesthetics rather than the content ·       Prezi  / Glogster need to be created online - however Prezi can be downloaded and presented offline ·       Can be boring for audience if it goes on too long ·       Can be overused	·         Allow students time to play with application ·         Scaffold learning so that all research on topics is  completed before using ·          Teacher to break down task to help with time management ·         Adapt Guy Kawasaki powerpoint rules 20 slides/ max 20 mins / min 30 font size ·         Teacher  modelling good ethics ·         Ability for students to show parents / extended family what  they have been learning ·         Mindful of purpose of activity
